It’s February, and that means we’re in the shortest month of the year. It’s also the month of St. Valentine’s Day, where people look to either validate or re-evaluate their relationships in their lives. So if the last few months have made you feel a little cramped at home, this is an excellent time to get yourself together and do something romantic for your partner.

We’re still stuck with COVID19 making our lives a little less wonderful at the moment, but that’s what makes road trips so wonderful. California has lots of beauty in the outdoors, especially along the Pacific Coast. There are a host of destinations you can go to for a romantic excursion with enough space for you and your loved one.. Here are five nearby coastal spots that make for a romantic getaway!

If you want a great place to watch a sunset within walking distance of an ice cream parlor or a cocktails spot, Inspiration Point at the corner of Ocean Blvd & Heliotrope Ave is for you.

Stearns Wharf at the Santa Barbara Pier is the typical romantic pier with destinations you’ve always wanted. Filled with shops and restaurants but long enough to give you a wonderful stroll above the Pacific Ocean, Stearns is a destination that is perfect for the young at heart.

If you want to mix a little greenery in with your beach, try the Green Belt at Sunset Beach on the Pacific Coast Highway as a nice compromise between lush greens of the park, sandy beaches, and the mighty Pacific Ocean. There’s an enormous boardwalk to stroll down, as well.

While it certainly won’t be empty on Valentine’s Day, if you want a crowd to disappear into, Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego has plenty of romance to offer you and your special someone!

For the nature lover, the Bolsa Chica Ecological Preserve is a marine life habitat for those who’d like to see a little of California’s wildlife along their romantic walk.
